Mission Summary

Mission One : "Brink Earth" 2015 - Svalbard Archipelago in the Arctic Circle, Spitsbergen

Yu, Vraj, Johannes, Joi, Jacob and Rublev (along with the NPC Mister Moth) managed to stop the third and final Dark Rite being initiated by Nyarlathotep's avatar on that world. Had they failed, the Dark Man's decade long plot to take advantage of a once in ten thousand year loophole around the Great Game (the ritual every twenty years or so that determine whether or not the Old Ones are held at bay on any given world, or not), allowing the Great Old One Atlach-Nacha to complete it's bridge of webs that spans dimensions out of time and space and usher in maddening doom for "Brink Earth". One of the world's guardian's, a young Thai woman with shamanic powers named Dao, accompanied the Champions back into the Mazeworks when the mission was complete.

Side Quest : MEF and Respite

After exiting their first mission, the group decided to head for the refuge known as Respite for some quick healing and rest before continuing on to the next mission. They met with more members of the Mazeworks Expeditionary Force (Barristan, Lodz, and Yuki) like Joi in the Keeper's room before setting out. Joi was reassigned from mission and world scouting to spying and infiltration based on increased hostilities in the maze while Barristan offered the services of the ninja Yuki Takada in lieu of stealing Joi away. After saying their goodbyes, they were on their way, only to bump into two more Champions (Eryl and John) on their way to the Keeper. Seeing their common goals, the groups merged and headed first to Respite.

Side Quest : Mister Moth, the Dark Man, and the Grey Witch

The group went to Lodoss (the world where Respite is located) and followed Moth to it's location from the portal; running into an old man and a young girl along the way. After sending the group through, Moth stayed behind with the two newcomers to enact dark plans of his own design; dark plans involving Nyarlthotep. Cecil, the caretaker of Respite, filled in the gaps of information for the group on what may be going on with Moth while everyone healed up. With that done, he allowed the Champions to accompany him back to the maze for help.

Once in the Maze, Cecil led the group around and failed to find the first two people he'd hoped could help. Instead, he led the way to a wandering merchant of the maze and bartered for information. One of the Champions he searched for was dead, victim of the Omega Engine in the Maze. The other was still alive though, and the Acquisitionist told him what world he was on.

Shortly after leaving the cavern where the merchant had set up shop, the group bumped into a confusion confrontation of three Champions. A dark and mysterious authority figure was chasing a rather average, skittish looking man, who was being protected by a young woman in riding leathers and willful demeanor. After easing the situation and sending the authority figure on his way, the group was about to continue on their way when Yuki voiced some concerns for the unattuned Champions.

Judging Attunement to be too important, the two newest Champions followed Yuki, along with Johannes who wanted to see them safe, back towards the Keeper. The rest of the group continued on their way until Cecil found the portal to Shadowrun where his ally, Lanys, was said to currently reside. After waiting around in a bar and avoiding trouble as much as they could, eventually Lanys showed up and agreed to accompany the group; having debts to pay to Cecil for past missions.

Once on Lodoss, Lanys proved to be adept at arcane tracking and picked up Karla's trail, despite having been hidden well. Before they could increase the persuit the group was accosted by barbarians, but were quickly dealt with; and no casualties. From their leader they got a whole new piece to the puzzle, as the girl who vanished with Moth is the center of rather dark rituals; and apparently Karla's interest recently.

After time and many miles traveled, the group eventually tracked down undead carnage in the wake of Naneel. After finding Karla seperated from both Moth and Naneel, the group got a more full story. Moth had come to this world with a dark passenger, the shade of the Dark Man seeking to open a new realm to his kind. Karla sought to examine this new power, but was overcome despite her skill and only escaped Moth's grasp when the chaos began to change his form.

After a further chase, Naneel was sent away and Moth tried to flee to the portal, but was defeated. Enough people sought to end Moth, despite the feelings of most of the Champions, and so Yu used his Persona to take the incapacitated Moth away from all involved and vanished to the Maze.

Mission Two : "Relic hunting in Norrath"

Within the the maze, things get murky, the sequence of events get muddled and sometimes lost to become mysteries of their own. Johannes, Yuki, and the others accompanying them are gone. However, in their place arrive stragglers in the cycle of champions; and a veteran getting dragged into trouble. The detective, Adachi, first ran into an odd fellow named Dr. Woah. After acquianting him a bit with the maze, they then ran into a weapon master (or merchant, or collector, judging by the arsenel of melee weapons he carried) named Kent. Not far off, two more newcomers do the meet and greet. Both the lich hunter with three souls and the ranger with the souless gas mask lack the knowledge Adachi brings to the other table.

Adachi attempted to give the n00bs the slip, but luck wasn't on his side as he bumped into Vraj, John, Jacob and Dao fresh from searching the halls to no avail for Moth and Yu.
